Actuate Reports failing on AIX 6.1 pointing to DB2 database

Postby Vasavi » Sat May 19, 2012 9:39 am

Hi Jon,

We have installed Actuate 9 on AIX6.1 and the database is DB2 version 9.7.Actuate is up and running. While trying to generate reports the reports are failed with the below error message:

Connecting...
Status No: 1 :
Basic Error: 1011
Module: afc\db.bas
Line: 191
Database Error
3: Database login failed.

We have cross checked each and every file all the property files looks good,

Could you please us in resolving this issue. This is very urgent and critical one we are working on.

Thanks in Advance.

Vasavi

Do you have a hard coded connection component in the report with incorrect credentials perhaps?
The message coming back from the database is quite clear!
How are your reports picking up login information?

Hi Jon,

Its picking from TrueInfo_portal.txt. To be true the parameters are not getting copied
To the file TrueInfo_portal.txt, hence manually specified dbusername, dbpassword and dbservername. Stopped and restarted actuate server but still same error.

Thanks,
Vasavi

Hi Vasavi,

You could override the Connect method of the super class of the connection object and temporarily place in there a ShowFactoryStatus() command to display the username and password in clear text. By knowing what the value is, you can see whether it is what you expect; this will help you in finding the source of the problem.

If your report is not reading portal.txt file, you should verify that it is in the location expected.

Yes TruePortal_Config.txt file locates in the expected path.
By the way can you tell me what is the DBInterface used for DB2 instance, for Oracle it is acorcl90 .

Where it is located and how the interface will be picked up in TruePortal_Config.txt

thanks,
Vasavi
